What that does not change:
- Books are chosen because they are worth reading. A commission has never decided a selection and will not start.
- Every recommendation is a book actually read. Where a personal connection to the book or its subject exists, it is stated in the piece.
- Where a book is unavailable through an affiliate link, the plain link is used instead and nothing is earned.
- A negative or mixed review still carries a link. The link is a convenience, not an endorsement.
Where the money goes

The American Cancer Society funds cancer research, runs free patient-support programs, provides lodging for patients traveling for treatment, and staffs a 24-hour helpline. It has operated in the United States since 1913.

Sponsorship
The Media CFO is presented by AXIOM Venture Capital. AXIOM is now a brand of Colibri Holdings Ltd., the publisher of the Media CFO podcast, videos, and this website. Saying so plainly is the point: a house sponsor that pretends to be arm's length is worse than one that does not pretend.
Sponsors do not see drafts before publication, do not choose subjects, and do not review copy. A sponsored issue is written exactly as an unsponsored one.
Where a sponsor is not a stranger
A sponsor may be someone Tobias has worked with. That is not a conflict to be hidden; it is a fact to be stated, in the sponsor credit itself and again here, so no reader has to work anything out.
The standing rule, which applies to every sponsor: if Tobias has held a role at, holds equity in, or advises a sponsor, the relationship is named in the credit — in the past tense where the role has ended, with the month it ended. A credit that omits it does not ship.
Data
The newsletter runs on Resend. Subscribing means Resend processes your email address and engagement data on our behalf. Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with sponsors. Unsubscribe removes you immediately, and the link is at the foot of every issue.
